PEUGEOT NEWS:
Plug-In Hybrid performance for PEUGEOT 308 range

March 2023: The PEUGEOT 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid offers impressive performance and plug-in hybrid benefits. The 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid matches a 132 kilowatt, 1.6-litre, PureTech turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and 81-kilowatt electric motor, the pair combining to deliver 165 kilowatts of power and 360 Newton metres of torque.

PEUGEOT 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid uses a derivative of the EAT8, the electric-Efficient Automatic Transmission (e-EAT8) which replaces the torque convertor with a clutch pack. Like the rest of the local range, it is front-wheel-drive.

With a WLTP test range of 60 kilometres1 of electric-only driving, the plug-in hybrid powertrain provides an impressive 1.3 litres/100km average fuel economy on the combined cycle2.

Kate Gillis, Managing Director Peugeot Australia, said: "The addition of the 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid strengthens the premium appeal of our local 308 range by broadening the compelling and distinctive offering with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Offering added power and electric motor performance, the GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid allows us to continue our electrification journey in small car segment.”

Alluring style

The award-winning PEUGEOT 308 has attracted praise both locally and internationally for the quality and innovation of its design and craftmanship. The architecture of the new PEUGEOT 308 benefits from the habitability and dynamism of its silhouette, whilst the striking frameless grille, three claw LED rear lights and the chiselled vertical LED matrix light signature at the front uphold the brand's established design DNA.

Key stylish features of the 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid include: full LED matrix headlights, rear full LED 3D PEUGEOT 'claw effect' lights, 18" 'Portland' matte black alloy wheels and a panoramic opening glass sunroof.

Inside the PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit™ features a 10-inch colour touchscreen and 10-inch digital instrument panel; multi-function, full grain heated leather steering wheel; customisable ambient lighting; black full grain Nappa leather3 seat trim with 'Tramontane' charcoal grey top stitch; heated driver & front passenger seats; Driver & front passenger massage seat and FOCAL® premium 10 speaker audio

Plug-In Hybrid performance – the perfect fit

The 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid also benefits from three driving modes including the choice of 'Electric', 'Hybrid' and 'Sport'.

Charging technology

The 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid comes as standard with a mode two charging cable. The on-board charger unit restricts the accepted charger to a capacity of 3.7kW.

There are simple methods to charge the Peugeot plug-in hybrid variants and maintain electric mobility:

Domestic Socket: using a 2.3kW single-phase 10A charger, charging at home can be achieved by simply plugging into a domestic socket.

Home Charging Station: drivers can recover their entire driving range in just a few hours4.

Public Charging: depending on the charging type used i.e. Wallbox, Public Charger or domestic socket, the charging time can range from approximately 3.5 hours to 5.5 hours (5).

Deferred Charging: Performed via the multimedia touch screen, this function allows drivers to program the best time for charging.
'B' Mode regenerative braking: recovers energy available during braking and when decelerating to partially charge the high-voltage battery to increase the range when driving in electric mode.

e-SAVE: provides further versatility by enabling real-time control over electric energy reserves. Peugeot's e-SAVE function allows the driver to save or regenerate all or part of the battery to be used at their discretion throughout the journey.

1. Figure based on WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure) static laboratory combined average city and highway cycle test, which measure, energy consumption, range and emissions in passenger vehicles, figures stated for the purposes of comparison amongst vehicles tested to the same technical procedures only. Actual real world range results will vary depending on a combination of factors including but not limited to load, driving style, type of journey, vehicle configuration, battery age and condition, use of vehicle features (such as heating and air conditioning), as well as operating, environmental and climate conditions.
2. The published consumption (l/100km and Wh/km), emissions (g/km) and kilometre (km) range figures are determined in accordance to ADR 81/02 derived from WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure). Actual figures will vary as they are dependent on many factors, including without limitation: individual driving style, road and traffic conditions, environmental conditions, fuel quality, a vehicle's or battery's condition, load and use. Extra features and accessories (eg: equipment, wheels or tyres used etc.) can change relevant vehicle parameters such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics and can also affect the consumption, emission, range and performance values of a vehicle. Generally, consumption, emissions, kilometre range and charging times will vary from the published figures in real world Australian driving and charging conditions.
3. Leather appointed seats are a combination of genuine leather and synthetic materials and are not wholly leather.
4. Charging times will vary depending on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the output of the charger being used, starting battery charge, charging equipment, ambient temperature, battery state as well as the age of the battery at point of use. As a result of these factors, charging times may therefore vary significantly.
