State-of-the-art moving components include forged aluminium pistons, strengthened segmentation and connecting rods, polymer-enhanced bearings and reinforced bolts. To ensure consistent performance, the pistons are cooled from below by a double oil spray system.
To make the most of the chassis, the PEUGEOT 308 GTi by PEUGEOT Sport contains a 1.6L THP (Turbo High Pressure) S&S (Stop&Start) petrol engine. Drawing on the full expertise of the PEUGEOT Sport engineers, its 200 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque are perfectly regulated, even at high speeds, thanks to the specially designed waste control valve for the turbo. Furthermore, the exhaust manifold is made of steel, and is capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 1,000°C.
With the GTi 270 producing 125kW per litre, this is the highest specific output of any vehicle in the segment.
