The new 308 GT will attract admiring glances wherever it goes. A number of exclusive design features are immediately apparent to differentiate the 308 GT. At the front, the Peugeot lion badge is proudly positioned in the grille and the exclusive direction indicators, positioned just above the GT's air intakes have an LED lighting signature that scrolls outwards in keeping with the car's technical excellence. At the side, discreet side skirts on the lowered body frame lend a broader presence, alongside stunning 18" 'diamant' alloy wheels, while the exterior mirrors are finished in black lacquer. And thanks to its high-gloss black diffusor surrounding twin exhaust pipes, the new 308 GT is every bit as eye-catching at the rear.
Finally, the GT signature is integrated into the grille, the tailgate and the front wheel panels while the range of colours includes exclusive Magnetic Blue paintwork.
Possessing all the strong design points of the 308 range while adopting differentiating styling features, the 308 GT presents fluid, sporty lines for those seeking exclusivity and dynamism.
Peugeot’s engineering excellence has ensured the new 308 GT has an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, which means it maximises its dynamic performance, whilst ensuring the driver is in full control at all times. The Peugeot 308 was crowned with the prestigious title of 2014 “European Car of the Year”, awarded by a jury of 58 senior European motoring journalists representing 22 European countries.
The European Car of the Year is an expert, independent judgement of all new cars on the European market. It is an international award, judged by a panel of senior motoring journalists across Europe. Its object is to acclaim the most outstanding new car to go on sale in the 12 months preceding the date of the title.
30 new models from American, Korean, European and Japanese manufacturers, on sale in Europe during 2013, were eligible for the 2014 “European Car of the Year” award. This list was reduced to seven finalist models. The 308 was the winner having received 307 points.
The 2014 “European Car of the Year” title represents the most prestigious recognition for the 308, which embodies the brand’s values of excellence, in terms of its design, elegant and dynamic, efficient concept based on an advanced approach to weight reduction, driving experience with its innovative instruments and controls (the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit) playing a part and quality of the highest level.
In addition, the development of the 308 included 4 million km of test driving, plus 15,000 hours of endurance testing to ensure we built the best car possible...no wonder the 308 was awarded with one of the most coveted automotive awards in the world.
The new 308 GT is an exemplary fusion of design and dynamic performance, offering a superb level of finished quality.
Inside and out, each element is fine-tuned to perfection: fine, premium-quality materials from foam-backed dashboard, through full-grain leather steering wheel, to heat-formed door panels.
Care and attention has gone into every detail - and it all adds up to a hugely pleasurable experience for driver and passengers alike.
It's durable too, with the 308 subjected to a significant amount of durability testing in its development phase. In addition to 4 million kilometres of test driving, the 308 underwent 15,000 hours of endurance testing, including 2,500 hours of 4-post rig testing. The air conditioning was tested for 250,000 cycles, the touchscreen had around 4.3 million press actions without failure and there are 1,800 quality controls in factory final acceptance. That's the meaning of quality.
Every new 308 GT comes with the advantage of the Peugeot capped price service. The price includes all parts and consumables (such as oil and filters) which are part of the service schedule - so there are no surprises when it comes to forecasting the costs of ownership.
