SAFETY
The 207 GTi protects you with ABS, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), EBFD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), SSP (Steering Stability Program), 6 airbags and an advanced safety cell designed to absorb a large part of the shock in an impact.
Airbags
The most important element of the Peugeot 207 is you and your passengers, which is why the vehicle surrounds you with a protective cocoon in the event of an accident with 6 airbags as standard. The four 3-point seatbelts are each equipped with a load limiter. The front seatbelts are also pre-tensioning and height-adjustable. Rear seat child restraint anchorage points ensure a secure fit for a child car safety seat. The Peugeot 207 GTi thinks of everything and everyone.
Advanced brakes
The sophisticated, new-generation ABS with EBFD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) and EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) is standard across the range. EBFD controls braking wheel by wheel for greater efficiency, particularly when braking in corners. EBA automatically applies more braking force in the event of sudden braking to increase the efficiency of your braking. The hazard lights are also automatically illuminated in the event of heavy braking. It's easy to see that when it comes to safety, the 207 GTi has real stopping power.
ESP
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) continuously monitors the 207 GTi's vital information using sophisticated sensors. If it detects any movement in the chassis (understeer or oversteer) which might cause you to lose control of the vehicle it automatically corrects the stability by using a combination of braking and engine management. It can also limit wheel slip in the event of a loss of traction.
Steering Stability Program (SSP)
The 207 GTi is Peugeot's first car to provide the Steering Stability Program (SSP) system. This technology allows coupling of electric assistance steering with ESP. This function makes the most of the braking potential of the car, increasing its stability and reducing stop distances.
Passenger safety cell
In the event of an accident, the 207 GTi has carefully considered crumple zones at the front and rear of the car which are designed to take the brunt of the force and keep the passenger compartment in tact. In head-on collisions, the steering column moves down, lowering the chance of it harming the driver. If hit from the side, the 207 GTi also has reinforcement panels built into the doors to increase structural rigidity and protect your passengers.
